CLEVELAND, OH Todd Leebow, President and CEO of Majestic Steel USA – a Cleveland, Ohio-based steel service center and master distributor of steel – released the following statement after Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross submitted the Department’s steel Section 232 report to President Donald J. Trump:

“Secretary Ross’ submission of the Section 232 report is an important step forward in achieving the critical goal that our American steel industry shares with President Trump: to ‘stop the dumping’ and to stop foreign producers ‘from coming in and killing our companies and our workers.’ Amid the record influx of foreign steel into the United States – which rose 25 percent in the first half of 2017 alone – it is abundantly clear that we can no longer sit on the sidelines. Trade action must be taken to stop the illegal dumping of steel, which directly threatens our economic and national security alike. Leveling the playing field with solutions like Section 232 will result in more manufacturing and supply chain jobs across America.

“I applaud President Trump for his continued commitment to our domestic industry and encourage the Administration to act with the degree of swiftness and strength that America’s steelworkers deserve.”
